JC Dobb 2014 Autumn League Round 2 Report

A Brilliant performance from everybody at the Second Round of JC Dobb Autumn League with ISC finishing 4th, but more importantly just 17 points behind the winners.

On the night, we were a victim of our own success with speeding tickets in 6 events proving the swimmers are coming on leaps and bounds with some huge PBs. The total time under the cut-offs for all 6 speeding tickets was 1.41 seconds, showing how narrow a margin there was between coming 4th and potentially winning by a country mile. But that’s the fun of Dobbs.

With just one round to go, ISC is in a really strong position. We head into the next round on 29th November at Hucknall Leisure Centre in 3rd position overall, just 11 points off top spot.

There were 32 new best times in total, 4 more than the last round and the whole team was fantastic.

In total there were:

6 – Speeding Tickets

16 – 1st Places (5 in the last round)

10 – 2nd Places (15 in the last round)

5 – 3rd Places (12 in the last round)

This meant we finished in the top 3 in 31 of the 48 races. 37/48 including STs.

16 First places is a massive achievement when you consider the 6 speeding tickets also finished first with PBs. This meant we touched the wall first in a third of the events excluding the STs.

Some highlights of note from the night were:

Keira Banks making her gala debut and contributing to 3 1st place finishes and 1 2nd place finish in the 10/u and 8/9yrs relays.

Ryan Kirk marking his gala debut with a speeding ticket and big PB in the 10/U 25m Backstroke.

Lewis Brown marking his first individual race with a speeding ticket and going sub-20s in the 10/U 25m Butterfly with a time of 19.61.

Jake Elson (x2), Evan Coggins (x2), Leah Woodhead, Charlie Palmer, Chelsea Sanders, Cameron Halliday, Robyn Beecham and Elsie Vivian getting 1st Places in their individual events.

It was a great night as ever and we all owe a big thanks to all the parents for helping out and ensuring the night went ahead without a hitch.

Bring on Round 3!!!
