10th Jamie Rigby Gala 2016

Seven teams totalling approximately 200 swimmers all joined together at Matlock Arc for the 10th Jamie Rigby Memorial Gala. The spectators area was packed and we were set for another exciting, loud, and fun packed evening that was full of action with relays and individual swims.

Team Ilkeston fielded two teams which totalled over 70 swimmers, ten more than last year which meant a lot more swimmers had the opportunity to experience one of the best and most enjoyable galas of the season!

Although we didn’t win the trophy, you can all be very proud of your efforts, and a lot of you were hitting personal bests and showing good skill levels. A big congratulations go to all swimmers, but especially those who have competed in their first gala last night. Also, thank you to our more experienced and older swimmers who acted as great mentors to our younger developing swimmers, and those who travelled back from various places to be able to swim for Team Ilkeston!

Finally, big thanks to everyone that helped on poolside in all roles to make the gala a success. It was a big team effort and it could not have happened without you.
