ARNOLD Swimming Club The Ernehale Open Meet PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING
Dear Swimmers, Spectators and Coaches,
Firstly, the Ernehale event organisers would like to thank you for entering our Open Meet. We are looking forward to all entrants hopefully achieving their goals and enjoying the day.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some important points that you will need to be aware of and prepare for the event.
The main event will of course be held in the Main Pool of the leisure centre. However, we have a number of activities taking place in the Main Sports Hall at Hucknall Leisure Centre for swimmers, spectators and coaches. For those of you who have never been to Hucknall Leisure Centre before once you enter the main entrance of the centre please look out for our signs with the Ernehale Logo on them to direct you to where you need to go.
Due to limited seating on Poolside, we kindly ask that no “Lunch Bags” or Kit Bags are left on the spectator seating. We would like to encourage ALL spectators to take advantage of the Main Sports Hall where you can visit to spend time with your swimmer, have something to eat or just generally “hangout”. It’s also cooler in the sports hall than on poolside!!
Again due to space limitations around Poolside swimmers will not be allowed to stay on poolside when they are not competing. All swimmers will be stationed in the Main Sports Hall in the swimmers “chill out” and “preparation” areas with ALL events being marshalled from the Main Sports Hall.
This means that ALL swimmers will need some pool shoes or spare clean trainers, a spare towel and t-shirt/shorts/tracksuit so they can be dry and warm before returning from Poolside to the Main Sports Hall. When in the sports hall you won’t be missing out on the action as we plan to have a live scoreboard and video feed from the poolside displayed in the sports hall.
Swimmers, once you leave the Poolside through the changing rooms you need to ‘dry off’ before you will be allowed to walk to the Main Sports Hall. Lockers are £1 each and the money is returnable. Coaches, we will have around 6 heats of swimmers on poolside once the event starts and so you will have ample time to talk to your swimmers in preparation for each event.
For Child Protection we are enforcing a strict no-photograph policy on site for our competition, except by our official photographer.
Car Parking is limited on site so we recommend car sharing where possible. There are a couple of free car parks in the local area within a 5 to 10 minute walk from the centre. For those of you that do get to park in the centre car park can we please remind you that you MUST park inside the white lines, you MUST NOT park on double-yellow lines and you only park in the disabled spaces if you are displaying a valid disabled badge. The Car Park is Council run and the parking attendants will be around!!
Only those persons displaying a valid poolside pass will be allowed onto the poolside.
All swimmers are asked to report to the your coach or our lead steward in the main sports hall at the start of the day (or afternoon session if only attending in the afternoon) to register and receive your swimmers pass, If you have a coach, these will be collected from your coach as they will be in the poolside packs that we will be giving out to registered coaches.
