Time Trials – Sun 28th Oct

Hi All,

We will be holding time trials this Sunday (28th Oct).

Time: 4pm – 6pm.

The purpose of the time trials is to obtain up to date times, which will assist the coaching team with swimmer selections for team galas.

ALL swimmers in the below squads should attend the time trials:

  • Midland Potential
  • Junior Elite
  • National Potential

Some Development Squad swimmers are also required to attend. These swimmers will be contacted directly by either Dan or Steph.

These time trials are important, and assist massively with team selections for galas as previously mentioned. So all required swimmers should make best efforts to attend.

Junior Grand Prix and Long Eaton Distance Meet

Derbyshire Junior Grand Prix

Having been present at this meet, I have seen a insight into younger swimmers from Ilkeston. There were impressive swims, a high percentage of PBs, and good skills throughout the three rounds. To round it off, a great result for Ilkeston.

Overall Finley O’Neil and McKinley Cotton claimed top boy and top girl over the three rounds for their age groups, so well done guys keep up the good work.

A big thank-you goes out to Steph for attending and coaching at all 3 rounds, and to the team managers who also attended and assisted poolside.

Long Eaton distance meet

After a long Sunday of distance swimming, with a lot of swimmers getting slightly tired towards the end, this meet was a successful one for Ilkeston.

Overall our swimmers that attended managed to gain a 96 % PB rate, along with very impressive swims by all.

With the step up in training, hard work, and as our swimmers stamina increases, it begun to show during the races with our swimmers working extremely hard and giving everything they could, which was really pleasing to watch.

So overall a big well done to all from llkeson who participated. Onward and Upwards for our swimmers, with some fast swimming ahead.

Thank-you also to Kyle Hudson and Claire cotton for your help throughout the meet.
