Timekeepers….New Trainees Needed!

In order to run Club Championships as a licensed meet and to offer assistance at outside meets and galas, the Club needs more trained poolside officials. The easiest way to help is to become a timekeeper.

If you are interested in supporting the Club by becoming a timekeeper, please speak to Josh at the pool or e-mail, joshuabestwick@aol.com   Thank You.

Jamie Rigby Memorial Gala – Sat 8th June

This gala¬†is held each year¬†in memory of a very talented ISC swimmer, Jamie Rigby, who sadly passed away at a young age.¬†¬†This year, ISC swimmers gave it their all, starting¬†with a minute kick session in¬†Jamie’s memory.
From start to finish, it was a close competition across the 6 teams taking part;
ISC, Belper Marlins, Shepherd, Southwell, Eckington, and Derby Phoenix.  Unfortunately, Etwall and Buxton had to pull out of the gala at the last minute.
Our ISC swimmers were amazing across all the age groups with both outstanding relays and individual performances.
Well done to Belper Marlins for winning the gala with ISC coming a close 2nd.
Final results were:
Belper Marlins 306 points
Ilkeston 277 points
Eckington 250 points
Derby Phoenix 205 points
Southwell 144 points
Shepherd 98 points.
A big thank you goes out to all the teams who took part, the supporters,¬†coaches, team managers, judges, time keepers, ‘office’ and general¬†helpers who gave up their time to make the gala such a success.
An extra big thank you goes to Joshua Bestwick for organising the gala.
Well done to you all and hope to see you again next year!
