However, as advised by Richard and due to swimmers being away on Camp (so space is available), all training sessions next week (except Foundation on Tues & Sun) are open to the Masters Squad.

Message from ISC Membership Secretary

Ilkeston Swimming Club is a competitive club and, as such, it is expected that all swimmers who are aged 9 at the end of the year, in the Development Squad and upwards, should compete in competitions outside Club Championships.  Also, under Swim England Policy as well as for insurance purposes, the above swimmers have to be Category 2 registered.  Therefore, any swimmers now competing and/or having moved squads need to upgrade their membership to Category 2.
Emails have been sent to relevant swimmer contacts and I would appreciate your support in this matter by forwarding the additional £17 to upgrade your membership (please email me when payment has been forwarded).
This is not optional and is stated on the membership pack.
Many thanks,  Claire Cotton.

ISC Club Championships 2019

This year’s Club Championships saw over 100 swimmers competing, some for the first time, and a 400 freestyle race for the first time ever at the Champs.  After only 3 weeks new season training faster times were not expected but, to their credit, ISC swimmers produced an 81%pb rate, with many outstanding swims for so early in the season.
There were also many races that were so close to call, which was amazing to see, with swimmers from as young has 7 years old and many Club records broken!

From the young swimmers it was nice to see good technical skills, which is a credit to the coaching staff in Foundation & Development; Steph, Abi K, Abi S, Katie, Fay & Victoria.
The Midland Potential Squad starts, turns and underwater work was very impressive.
Well done Dan and Gary.
The Junior Elite, National Potential and Masters Squads also didn’t disappoint with improvement on all round performance – I’m sure you agree Mr Macey…!

There were so many highlights to mention from a great Club Championships and thank you to all the volunteers, parents and coaching staff for the hard work in making it such a successful meet.  A special thanks goes out to Pippa Hibbs who gave up her time to be our Referee on both days.  A big well done to everyone!

Swimmers – keep your focus, train hard, improve all the time and the rewards will come. We have a long season ahead of us… and remember;  ‘HARD WORK CONQUERS EVERYTHING’.     Head Coach Richard
