Regional Success…

Well done to Alicia Bull, Eja Coe, James Wright and Lewis Brown after their performances at the East Midlands Age Group Championships, which were held at Corby International Pool last weekend.

Alicia qualified for the 50m Breaststroke earlier in the year at the County Championships, and it was the first time she had qualified for the Regionals. It’s always a daunting prospect to compete at the next level for the first time, but a quality skill driven race resulted in a LCM pb.

Eja was also a first time qualifier, and after her recent performances at open meets, she accumulated fourteen qualifying times. Outstanding performances in the 200m & 400m Individual Medley taking a podium place with 2 silver medals.

Lewis attended his third Regional’s last weekend and raced well under pressure finishing with some respectable placings. A total of seven qualifying times, and numerous pb’s with quality racing throughout the event.

It was James second time at the East Midland Championships. This season he achieved eight qualification times, and made the 50 breast final. This is the first time James had achieved a finals place at Regional level, and he went into the race in third place. A quality process race resulted in a bronze medal finish.

Well done to all of our swimmers on the home and DX programme.
